We recently heard from Matt Meyer, author of the successfully Faithify-ed project, “Songleaders Convergence” which raised $5040 in scholarship funds! Here’s what he says:
It was amazing to experience 65 songleaders from across the movement come together for a week of sharing and collecting songs, skill building for music in worship and in the streets, and deeper conversations about building a more justice-centered musical movement. The Convergence brought in new people to the organization and expanded our mission and our organization in powerful ways.
Thank you especially to the Convergence Planning Team: Rev. Sofia Betancourt, Dr. Glen Thomas Rideout, and Rev. Sara Green!
We’ll see you all again next year in Ann Arbor!
Topics covered Songleading for rallies and demonstrations, a panel on Language, Inclusion, and Changing lyrics, an outreach event in song outside an ICE facility, and more!
