Class Conversations is coming to UU Berkeley, CA this October 14, 2017! This day-long workshop (10:00-4:30), intended for UUs in the greater CA Bay Area, includes lunch and morning refreshments. The instructors will include Rev. Dorothy Emerson and Denise Moorehead, two of the founders of Class Conversations, as well as Megan Dowdell. The workshop will help UUs become more aware of economic and social class distinctions and how they impact society as a whole, play out in our congregations, and affect the quality of our social justice work.  We need to raise additional money beyond individual registrations (which are on a sliding scale of $20-50, no one turned away for lack of funds) to cover the transportation and housing costs for the instructors and to provide food.

I am interested in attending Class Conversations. I cannot afford to pay $150 for this workshop. I understand there are alternatives to paying the full fee. I hope that is correct.

I don’t know where the $150 came from. The suggested donation for the daylong workshop is $20-50, with no one turned away for lack of funds. You can register at (scroll down to the Class Conversations event). It should be a great event and we hope to see you there! (I encourage you to register sooner rather than later, as the event is filling up.)
