STRETCH GOAL $3,000 Chalice House is a shared project whereby Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist (Palatine, IL) will partner with Interfaith Community for Detained Immigrants (ICDI) to provide temporary housing and hospitality in a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom house owned by CCUU to ICDI’s asylum-seeking clients. Community-based housing such as Chalice House offers alternatives to detention while an immigrant’s case is pending so that families can stay together and immigrants don’t experience additional trauma in immigration detention centers.
