What do I do if I have questions about a campaign?
Ask the campaign owner! On each campaign page there’s a “Comments” section. This will post your question directly to the campaign page.
Can I pledge to campaigns internationally?
Yes! Anyone can pledge to Faithify campaigns, from anywhere in the world. The only requirement is an internationally-recognized credit card.
Can I pay with a check? Send cash by mail?
Pledges through the Faithify website must be made by credit card.
Campaigns by UU congregations in good standing with the Unitarian Universalist Association qualify to include checks towards the campaign’s goal amount if the check is sent directly to the congregation and notes the campaign in its memo line.
What if I want to pledge anonymously?
Yes! You can pledge anonymously by marking the “Donate Anonymously” box on the check-out form. Your name will be visible to the campaign author after the campaign ends, but will not show on the website.
Why am I getting an error message when I try to pledge?
If you are getting an actual error message, there is likely an issue with the card you’re using. Please check that there are no issues with your card details or your bank, or try a different payment method.
If I make a pledge, what info does the campaign owner receive?
When you pledge, your Display Name and your pledge amount are listed in the “Backers” section of the campaign page. If funding succeeds, the post-campaign report gives the project owner your name, pledge amount, and email address.
Is my pledge amount displayed publicly?
Yes. Anonymous pledging is available (see above.)
When is my card charged?
If the campaign you’re funding reaches its target goal amount, your card will be charged one day after the campaign reaches its funding end date. If the campaign does not reach its target amount, your card is never charged. If you’ve funded a campaign that is still live and are seeing a charge on your bank statement, what you are likely seeing is a temporary authorization of funds. The time it takes for an authorization to clear varies on the bank, but typically takes 1 – 3 days.
You will not be charged until the campaign you funded has ended successfully.
How do I make a donation to the Unitarian Universalist Association?
Everyone who makes a donation to a Faithify campaign is invited to make a donation to the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). The UUA funds Faithify which makes it possible for us to offer free hosting of campaigns on the site. Simply head over to our donation page.
Why should I consider a donation to the Faithify/UUA?
Our Unitarian Universalist Association provides the architecture of connection for our faith. A donation to our UUA strengthens these connections and honors the essential ministries that no single project or congregation can serve alone, like Side with Love social justice witness, ministerial credentialing and transitions, field staff support, religious education curriculum and hymnals, and so much more.
Do I get notified if a campaign I’m backing succeeds?
Yes! You’ll receive two confirmation emails – one noting when the campaign has reached 100% funding and then a receipt when your pledge has been processed.
Who is responsible for fulfilling the promises of a campaign?
It is the responsibility of the campaign owner to fulfill the promises of their project. Faithify reviews campaigns to ensure they do not violate the campaign guidelines, however Faithify does not investigate a campaign owner’s ability to complete their project.
Campaign owners are encouraged to share links to any websites that show work related to the project, or past projects. It’s up to them to make the case for their project and their ability to complete it. Because projects are usually funded by the friends, fans, and communities around its campaign owner, there are powerful social forces that keep campaign owners accountable.
Can I pledge with Paypal?
The site accepts payments from most major credit cards, but we do not accept payment using Paypal at this time.
