- SuccessfulSummertime Can Be Hunger Time$4,170 RaisedGOAL $4,000 For millions of children, summer is the hungriest time of the year. For those students who rely on weekday meal programs and weekend hunger relief from their school district, the summer months mean the end of dependable meals and a return to the fear of not knowing when or where they will receive their next meal. This summer, No Child Goes Hungry is committed to supporting local schools, community organizations, faith-based groups, and grassroots non-profits committed to providing childhood hunger relief in their communities. We’ll be reaching out to little free pantry owners, backpack programs, and other generous organizations to help keep them stocked with the food and supplies they need to keep our children fed until schools re-open their doors this fall. Over the past several months, we have begun partnering with heroic organizations to make preparations to ensure continual student meal support over the summer. Some of our current partner programs include: • Peyton Randolph Elementary School PTA’s Food Pantry in Arlington, VA • The YMCA of Walla Walla, WA • Camelot Elementary School in Annandale, VA Still, more help is desperately needed. The need is vast, and it continues to grow. We feed kids, one meal at a time. It matters. Every meal matters. Let’s make a kid’s summer safe and healthy by making sure they have enough to eat, one kid, one meal at a time.
- SuccessfulHoliday and Winter Pandemic Relief$4,000 RaisedThis year, due in part to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, one in every four kids may not know where they will get their next meal. As we head into the long, cold, dark winter months, and our nation continues to battle the COVID-19 crisis, No Child Goes Hungry is committed to filling the gaps for food-insecure families across the country. Over the past nine months, NCGH has partnered with local non-profits and passionate grassroots organizations that are pivoting and persevering to launch innovative programs to help families suffering from food insecurity due to COVID-19. As we celebrate one another with love, warmth, and togetherness this holiday season, we cannot lose track of the millions of families struggling to keep the lights and heat on and food on their tables. Please help us make a difference.
- SuccessfulSocial Differencing, No Child Goes Hungry Making a Difference during COVID-19$5,000 RaisedGOAL $5,000 In these unprecedented times, No Child Goes Hungry is committed to filling the gaps for food-insecure families across the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. NCGH has been quickly partnering with local non-profits to launch innovative programs that ensure that families are getting enough nutritious food and that no child goes to bed hungry.
- SuccessfulDevelopment of a Childhood Hunger-Relief Religious Exploration Curriculum for Congregations$4,060 RaisedNo Child Goes Hungry is raising $4,000 to fund the development of a Religious Exploration curriculum, focusing on childhood hunger and hunger-relief resources as well as to create a video that describes our mission and vision. The curriculum and video are directed toward Unitarian Universalist congregations looking to build impactful and sustainable hunger-relief programs to lessen the instances of childhood hunger within their communities. A portion of funds raised will go towards an upgrade of our website to host our new curriculum materials and to the production of a newsletter for our donors.
