For the week of April 17th through April 26th; Old Ship Youth Group will be traveling to Appalachia for a week-long service/learning trip through AMIZADE; pronounced ah-mee-zha-jee..

After extensive research AMIZADE stood out as an agency that had hosted/connected numerous service and learning trips for Unitarian Universalist Youth groups in the Massachusetts area.

This will be the Old Ship Youth Group's THIRD service and learning trip...

Our first trip to post-Katrina New Orleans was transformational in ways and in power that none of us could have predicted.

Our second trip to Washington DC taught us tons about the true face of poverty, hunger and homelessness, and also opened our eyes to the many ways that people and agencies are addressing them.

We look forward to what this third trip will bring.
