Help Misha get to the MFC

Crowdfunding Completed: November 16, 2017

Amount Funded: $1000

Project Owner: Misha Sanders

Short Description of Project

Help with travel expenses to MFC interview.

How was this project connected to UU?

This campaign will allow me to take the next step in serving my beloved faith. I have been loved into ministry by my home congregation (Unitarian Universalist Church, Rockford, Illinois) and two wonderful internship congregations (Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation, McHenry, Illinois, and North Shore Unitarian Church, Deerfield, Illinois), and I am eager to get to the stage of paying forward all of that love. I am eager to serve and learn and grow and minister in whatever way the spirit leads. This next phase of the journey is a necessary step in the direction of my calling. I am grateful.

Full Description of Project

Hi, beloved friends.

As most of you know, I am a candidate for ministry in the Unitarian Universalist Association. I am privileged and excited to be traveling to Boston the first weekend of December to see the Ministerial Fellowship Committee for the interview of a lifetime. This is the time when a panel of Wise Ones decide if I am ready to be welcomed into preliminary fellowship as a minister in our faith, or if I still have some more work to do. But no pressure, right?!

I need help covering the cost of this trip. That’s it. Nothing fancy or heart-tugging. I just can’t finance a trip to Boston (on part-time chaplain income) without a little help from my friends.

It is only the grace of people that has gotten me this far on this journey of ministerial formation. And it is my faith in you that leads me to know that I haven’t come this far to stop now. Thank you. I can’t WAIT until it’s my turn to pay it forward!
