Campus Ministry Leadership Training Scholarships

Crowdfunding Completed: April 5, 2018

Amount Funded: $575

Project Owner: Greater Worcester UU Campus Minstry

Short Description of Project

Help enrich and expand UU campus ministry by funding scholarships for our Campus Ministry Leadership Training!

How was this project connected to UU?

This training is specifically designed for those doing UU campus ministry work. Our participants are coming from a variety of different connection points to UUism — some are born and raised UU and wishing to maintain a faith community in college, others are new to Unitarian Universalism and are interested in creating a space to explore their faith on campus. Whatever participants' backgrounds may be, this training intends to strengthen Unitarian Universalism on college campuses and empower the future leaders of our faith community.

Full Description of Project

Greater Worcester UU Campus Ministry (GWUUCM) is partnering with the UUA to run a Campus Ministry Leadership Training, to enrich and expand UU campus leadership for students and chaplains. We need your help to fund scholarships and travel subsidies, so that we can get as many folks as possible to the training!

Campus ministry is deeply necessarily and often under-supported need in our faith movement. Vibrant campus UU groups — both student-run and professionally supported — serve as a vital support network for young adult UUs as they’re leaving their home communities, and as an entry point for non-UU students who are looking to explore their spiritual identity.

The training will be held in April 6th and 7th in Boston, MA, and is open to folks from all across the country. GWUUCM and the UUA Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries are putting together this training to share the lessons we’ve learned about how to create and sustain thriving campus ministry groups, and to build a community of those who are doing this work.

To make this event accessible to all, especially students and those offering campus ministry who are not compensated for their work, we need your help! We need to raise $500 so that we can offer scholarships to those in need of financial assistance to cover travel expenses and registration fees.
