    Florida Earth Festival 2015 is a community Earth Day-related celebration of sustainability. Affiliated events will take place in the two weeks surrounding a two-day Earth Day event on April 18th and 19th. The two-day event will focus on energy, air, and water, with a community project on sea level rise. The festival is funded in part by the Unitarian Universalist Fund for Social Responsibility, which will also match $3,000 in Faithify donations dollar for dollar. We need your support!

  • Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery March

    The Selma to Montgomery March capped the drive for the Voting Rights Act and was a vital touchstone in the history of civil rights in this country. Unitarian Universalists played a critical role in the Selma Voting Rights Movement that included the martyrhood of local activist, Jimmie Lee Jackson, and two Unitarian Universalists, James Reeb and Viola Liuzzo. In March 2015, on the 50th anniversary of the these events, UUs will have the opportunity for visit Selma, to deeply reflect on the role we played there, and to affirm our solidarity with all those engaged in the ongoing struggles for voting rights, human dignity, and social justice.
